General Business Conditions of the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM

1. The international Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM is a service of the Austrian Small Animal Veterinary Association (VÖK) for the central registration of microchip-numbers and simple tracking of the owners of lost or stolen companion animals.

2. The International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM is open to anybody for ONLINE registration of companion animals identified by microchip or other means of identification.

3. For reasons of animal protection and welfare, chipped animals will only be registered in the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM if the implantation of the microchip was performed by a veterinarian. Therefore applications for registration of chipped animals are only accepted by the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM if presented by persons authorized through a registered electronic signature (VET-ID, TAN).

4. Veterinarians applying for ONLINE registration as authorized vets will receive their free VET-ID number via e-mail. Foreign veterinarians are kindly asked to present an adequate proof of their qualification (copy of vet ID or diploma).

5. The VET-ID number is the veterinary surgeons access code for all functions of the data base. A transaction number (TAN) enables only for an unique registration of an animal. TANs can be acquired by veterinary surgeons and be given to pet-owners for selfmade online-registrations.

6. Application for registration of companion animals with the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM can also be made by sending the signed application form to ANIMALDATA.COM, Dominikanerplatz 5, 3500 Krems, AUSTRIA.

7. Registrations with the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM are made for periods of twenty years each. After this time the registered data record of the animal is deleted automatically.

8. With their application for registration, pet owners explicitly agree to electronic storage and public ONLINE back reading of their data from the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM in the event of tracing them via microchip or tattoo number.
They further agree that due to laws, the datas are given to the authorities disposal and the and the microchipnumber only to the search engine “EuroPetNet”.

9. Before each registration of an animal with ANIMALDATA.COM, the owner of animal has to sign the General Business Conditions of ANIMALDATA.COM. On registration of animals by authorized veterinarians, the owner confirms his/her consent to the above General Business Terms with his/her signature on the application form.

10. The registration fee is Euro 13.20 for each animal.

11. After registration the pet-owner will get an ANIMALDATA.COM-PetCard sent, with all data of his animal and the identification number.

12. ANIMALDATA.COM must be informed immediately about any change in ownership or owner data (e.g. address, telephone number). All changes of data are free of charge. A new print of an  ANIMALDATA.COM-PetCard is liable to pay the costs.

13. To update data everyone is authorized, who legitimizes itself by a change password or by other suitable proofs to be owner of the animal.

14. For lack of examinableness of data registered or updated, the Austrian Small Animal Veterinary Association is not responsible for the correctness and completeness, the data callable in the Internet.

 15. Equally the combination of the Austrian Small Animal Veterinary Association is not responsible for the abusive use admits given data and for disadvantages due to the abusive linkage of online inquiries at ANIMALDATA.COM with inquiries in other data bases. In particular no conclusion on the legal owner of an animal from the registered data is permissible.

 16. Identification parameters for registered animals are microchip/tattoo number and the breed of the pet.

 17. In the event of a consultation addressed to the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM for tracking the owner of a pet that has been found lost or astray, the owner's TELEPHONE NUMBER will be published.

18. ONLINE tracking at the International Animal Identification Database ANIMALDATA.COM is free of charge.
